I got to the car park at Southerndown Beach and started making my way carefully down the hill — concentrating rather more on staying upright than on photography. Then I spotted this scene and simply had to stop.

The bright sea, wide stretch of sand and little figures dotted along the shoreline gave the whole scene an almost painterly feel.
