Walking along the path, I spotted these three enjoying what must be some of the best seats in the house. No booking required, no queue and certainly no need to worry about getting a table by the window.
I loved the way the path leads you through the shade and out towards the sunlit grass, with the sea just appearing beyond. It was one of those quiet summer scenes that didn't need arranging — I just happened to arrive at the right moment.

Low tide had pulled the sea back and left the shoreline wide open, with the cliffs running away into the distance and the rock pools catching bits of the sky. I liked the contrast between the solid, weathered cliffs and the softer reflections on the wet sand.
